Ford Motor Company in collaboration with academic researchers and supplier A. Schulman, is the first automaker to develop and use wheat-straw reinforced plastic in the storage bins of vehicles. This will reduce petroleum usage by some 20,000 lbs per year and reduce CO2 emissions by 30,000 lbs per year. Here is a recipe that includes the sustainable material wheat:
- 8 Wheat Flour Tortillas cut into triangles and fried
- 1lb bay scallops
- 4 limes juiced
- 1 tsp lemon zest minced
- 1 small red onion diced
- 2 scallions minced
- 1 Serrano chili pepper minced
- 1/2 bunch cilantro minced
- pinch of cumin
- 2 small Roma tomatoes diced
- 2 tsp pineapple juice
- 1 celery rib
- salt &pepper
Combine all ingredients and adjust seasoning. Let stand for at least 1/2 hour but no more than 4 hours. Serve immediately on fried wheat flour tortilla.
