If you and your girlfriends are looking for a new place to catch up, try the Lazy Dog Cafe in the Irvine Marketplace! It is a casual restaurant that is both kid and dog friendly. They have a patio outside where you can bring your dog and dine along with them. The interior of the restaurant has the feel of a rustic lodge with high beams and dark woods. The decor has lots of dog-themed accents such large paw prints and dog art.

My friend and I recently dined here and had the chance to try out some of their delicious appetizers and cocktails.

We started off with a cucumber mint martini, and Sangria Sampler. The martini was really refreshing with slices of cucumber and mint in it, and the sangria sampler had three flavors to sample:black currant rose, white peach, and pomegranate.

Next we had some appetizers. Edamame and Wok-Fried Calamari. The edamame was coated with chili flakes, black peppercorn, orange peel, ginger, garlic and was really flavorful. The Calamari was really unique because it wasn’t the traditional calamari rings you are used to seeing. These were calamari steaks, peanuts, bell peppers, sweet soy plum sauce, green onions, sesame seeds, and steamed rice.

We were still a little hungry so we tried the Brick Oven Spinach & Sun Dried Tomato Cheese Dip. This was so delicious. It had jack, Parmesan & Swiss cheeses, and was served with hand-cut corn tortilla chips. I loved how creamy it was and how rich it tasted.

Lazy dog has happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6pm & Sunday-Thursday 9-close (bar & patio only).
