Tucked in a cozy corner of the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood lies one of the greatest casual restaurants in Las Vegas. As a seafood lover, I have to say this was one of the best experiences I have had at a seafood restaurant. The concept here is simple. They offer great tasting Lobster at a reasonable price. LobsterME is known for their heaping Lobster Rolls but they offer many other great choices on their menu.
My family was with me for the holidays so all of us dined together that evening. This was the first introduction to any kind of seafood for my boys and they absolutely loved it, especially my 10 year old. We started off with a lobster salad that had romaine and arugula with an Asian vinaigrette dressing.
Then we had Lobster Bisque served in a sourdough bread bowl. This soup is made with a hint of brandy and it had lobster chunks mixed in. The bread bowl made the perfect accessory for dipping. Don’t tell anyone, but it was so good I almost asked for a second serving.
After that we had their famous Lobster Mac and Cheese. My kids ate this up so quickly I barely had time to taste it myself. It was made with small shell noodles, plenty of lobster and was covered in panko crumbs. It was decadent and delicious.
Then came the hot dog and lobster grilled cheese sandwich for the kids. The lobster grilled cheese was like a creamy, cheese & lobster panini. You definitely do not want to miss this one. I couldn’t believe the amount of lobster meat in this sandwich. The hot dog was split and served on a buttered roll with fries, pickles, and condiments.
Finally it was time to try what everyone has been talking about: The original Lobster Roll. While many think of a lobster roll as a “salad” made with mayonnaise and celery, this sandwich is for purists. There are no fillers here. It’s just a soft, sweet brioche-type buttered bun with a touch of mayo, lemon and delicious seasoned lobster. My husband and I shared an extra large sandwich and it was enough for both of us. We also sampled a Lobsicle: A fried lobster tail on a stick. The amount of meat coming out of this tail was absolutely incredible. It was enhanced with warm butter for dipping.
Towards the end of our meal we sampled some Lobster Ice cream. I know it sounds strange, right? But it was actually quite good. It was made with butter cream and lobster bits and we all really enjoyed it even though we wanted to hate it.
