It’s hard to believe that Kogi BBQ kicked off the Gourmet Food Truck rage a little over 2 years ago, and its still going just as strong. Orange County’s food trucks are still growing, and is estimated there’s about 30 trucks serving up a variety of food from Latin American, to Seafood, to Asian Fusion.
Rather than trying to be on their own, many Orange County food trucks have figured out its easier to pull resources and sell as a group. Not only does having multiple trucks attract more fans to the venue, it gives the fans a chance to try a variety of food in one central location.
On Thursdays, you can find a relatively new food truck gathering at the Best Buy in Orange, CA… located right off the 55 freeway and Lincoln, across from “The Village” mall. Resident trucks Spudrunner and Barcelona on the Go are there every Thursday from 5:00-9:00 pm, with other rotating OC trucks.
The event is free, and there’s plenty of parking. Right now its the hidden gem, with relatively short lines. Take advantage of this now, before it becomes the next “hot” dinner spot.
