Adding to the more than 70 artisan, premium and ultra premium tequilas and mezcals already on the bar, SOL Cocina offers guests something extra special: its very own SOL Single Barrel Reposado Tequila, custom blended at Casa Noble’s Tequila distillery by Partners Rich Howland and Matt Baumayr.

Guests will be to be among the first to sample the tequila when it debuts at SOL’s weekly Tequila Thursdays launch on Thursday, March 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. at SOL Cocina in Newport Beach (251 E. Pacific Coast Highway at Bayside Drive, on the Balboa Marina). As with all Tequila Thursday events, guests may enjoy a complimentary tasting in the bar and then enjoy our featured tequila all night for half-off the normal price. Future Tequila Thursdays partners will include Don Julio, Partida Tequila, and Clase Azul – a full schedule is listed below.

“This is our second barrel of our SOL Single Barrel Reposado Tequila, and we wanted to focus on the characteristics that our guests loved in the first barrel – after all, that’s what made it so popular served neat or in a margarita,” says General Manager Matt Baumayr. “We are proud of this tequila – it’s balanced and versatile, with caramel and chocolate notes that make it an approachable sipping tequila with enough agave backbone to hold up in one of our hand-crafted cocktails.”

As its name suggests, SOL Single Barrel Reposado comes from a barrel from the Casa Noble estate in Mexico, where only 360 bottles were produced. The tequila will only be available at SOL Cocina locations in Newport Beach, CA and Scottsdale, AZ.

The public is invited first to sample the new SOL Single Barrel Reposado Tequila from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21st at the relaunch of Tequila Thursdays. During Tequila Thursday events, guests enjoy a complimentary tasting every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the bar and can enjoy the featured tequila all night for half-off the normal price. The event takes place in the bar area and guests will be served on a first come, first serve basis. Tequila Thursdays will run every Thursday thereafter, with schedule below.

For the most spirited, SOL is proud to host customizable private tequila tastings with more than 70 tequilas to consider. All private events have the option of a private bar with dedicated bartender, and all events allow for custom beverage options that can be as simple or as varied as is required.
