The Matador Cantina is bringing authentic Mexican cuisine with an elegant twist to the Fullerton dining scene this month.
The
Matador's nearly 4,000-square-foot space is the former home of The
Rockin Taco Cantina, which closed its doors in October. While the
previous venue featured dueling pianos and a casual atmosphere, Matador
mixes a relaxed ambiance with high-end appeal.
The new
restaurant will feature express and curbside service for a quick lunch
pit stop, as well as cozy, candle-lit seating for those looking for a
nice dinner out. The interior will include leather booths and lounge
tables, cushion ottomans and a 50-foot bar.
Entrée pricing will range from $8 to $18. Tres Enchiladas, Shrimp
Diablo and Blackened Rib-Eye with a chili-cilantro rub are just a few
items that will appear on the menu. Matador will also hold a weekly
Taco Tuesday, preparing $1.50 tacos made with fresh ingredients.
“Our
goal is to provide Fullerton and the downtown community with a great
Mexican dining experience,” says Mario Marovic, Matador's managing
partner. “Everyone loves good Mexican food, but there wasn’t a favored
destination in the area. Now there will be.”
The Matador Cantina can be found at 111 North Harbor Blvd.
