For those of you who didn't know about this little secret, now you know: You can find home-style Italian cooking right in the heart of Corona del Mar. Gina's Pizza & Pastaria is a traditional family-run Italian eatery with a cozy environment – the red-and-white checkered tablecloths found throughout the restaurant give it a homey feel. Though the ambiance is nothing short of comfortable, and the serving staff is prompt, efficient and friendly, you don't need to stay in the restaurant to enjoy any of the tasty menu items. When I visit Gina's, I usually order at the to-go window. My favorite dish is Gina's Fettuccini Alfredo, which comes with a delicious serving of garlic bread. You can also add Sicilian or Messina Chicken to the dish. And the pizzas are unforgettable. Choose a traditional or whole grain crust. Create your own, or pick from a menu of specialties, such as the Chicken Palermo Alfredo, with Sicilian Chicken, Alfredo sauce, spinach, tomatoes and cheeses. Gina's Pizza & Pastaria offers a number of other selections, all of which will leave you satisfied and content for the rest of the day.
