Panera serves up some fresh new flavors

The eatery offers customers free samples of its new menu items today at stores around Orange County.

Two new sandwiches, a salad and a cookie bar will now be available for dine-in or takeout as a part of Panera’s regular menu. The bakery-café, which has multiple locations throughout Orange County, is also offering free samples of the new menu items today only at participating locations.

The new BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad is made from all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken, a fire-roasted medley of sweet Pacific Northwest corn, black beans, diced Poblano peppers, red bell peppers and red onions, and crunchy tri-color tortilla strips tossed on chopped romaine lettuce and drizzled with a mild and sweet barbecue ranch dressing.

The Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich is built on sesame semolina bread and combines thin-sliced all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken, red seedless grapes cut fresh daily, sliced raw almonds, diced celery and a tastefully light, savory dressing. It is served with fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce.

The Breakfast Power Sandwich packs a punch to start the day. The selection is made with all-natural, freshly cracked eggs and a thin slice of Vermont white cheddar cheese and lean ham, all grilled between two slices of whole grain bread. And with four grams of fiber, 22 grams of protein and less than 400 calories, it’s also a healthful morning meal.

Finally, the new Macadamia Nut Blondies are a sweet end to a delicious meal or an indulgent anytime snack. The treats are made from pure vanilla batter mixed with macadamia nuts, chocolate and butterscotch chips. You know you want to try one.

And as if these delicious new dishes weren’t enough, you can also help share with the community. For every customer who purchases a loaf of bread or half-dozen bagels at participating Panera Bakery & Café locations on Sept. 10, Panera will “share the dough” by contributing a portion of the proceeds to local charities as a part of its Operation Dough-Nation program.
