Rodney Allen Rippy, Anaheim White House owner cook up Jumbo Jack July 22

Event aims to raise funds for Caterina's Club.

July, 2009

Rodney Allen Rippy, the commercial superstar who helped solidify Jack in the Box as a major fast-food chain in the '70s, is joining forces with Anaheim White House owner Bruno Serato July 22 for a burger-themed fundraiser.

The duo will be cooking up Rippy's own take on the Jumbo Jack, which he made famous, in an effort to raise money for Serato's Caterina's Club, a nonprofit that feeds 35,000 underprivileged children each year. Dubbed "motel children," these young ones and their families are forced to live in cheap motels and often don't have enough money for dinner.

“As soon as I learned about the plight of these kids, I wanted to help," says Rippy. "Bruno is an angel, and I’m proud to be teaming up with him to raise some much-needed funds.”

Serato agrees, saying the fundraiser gives everyone the opportunity to help the nonprofit.

"I am delighted to be teaming with Rodney on this fun and worthwhile endeavor,” finishes Serato.

The burger will remain on the Anaheim White House menu for the next month in order to garner additional funds for the children.

It all takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow. The event costs $15 per person; to make reservations, call 714.772.1381. Anaheim White House is located at 887 S. Anaheim Blvd.
