Where the land meets the sea in Newport Beach, is where families can find the ultimate beach front dining experience at The Beachcomber. Last month, my family and I went down to Crystal Cove for a relaxing walk on the beach together. Before dipping our toes into the warm sand, we dined at the local favorite, The Beachcomber Cafe. We parked at the main Crystal Cove parking lot right off of Pacific Coast Highway. The Beachcomber provided a shuttle service that brought our family right down to the casual family-friendly restaurant.

My husband and I had friends who lived in the Crystal Cove Cottages back in the day when they were still private residences. Together we grew-up dining at The Beachcomber throughout our lifetime. Bringing our children to one of our favorite childhood restaurants gave us both an opportunity to share all our favorite memories at The Beachcomber with them.

While sitting on the open air patio, we were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel like family. We enjoyed dining to the sound of the crashing waves, with refreshing ocean breezes, before basking in the beauty of the sunset while walking on the beach.

The children were comfortable dining with us on the family-friendly patio. There were sounds of children giggling in the air while creating memorable experience with their parents at this historic restaurant.

We started dinner with the popular crispy wonton Ahi tacos with pickled cabbage and sriracha aioli. The tacos were as fresh as the crisp ocean air paired perfectly with a refreshing glass of chardonnay. Then we savored in the warmth of a creamy bowl of their ever-popular clam chowder. The chowder tasted like the clams had just been caught hours before preparing our fresh bowl of soup.

The meal was complete as my tastebuds with delighted with the Pappardelle Pasta main dish. The pasta was swirled around asparagus, mushrooms, glistening roasted pearl onions topped with Parmigiano-Reggian cheese.

Just as we started to smell the first beach side bonfire starting on the beach, our senses made us not resist finishing off the meal with the s’mores dessert. The dessert left my family begging for s’mores.

The Beachcomber is a jewel of Orange County with its panoramic ocean views and seaside charm that will delight your tastebuds at every turn. We highly recommend making reservations for your family to create an unforgettable experience at The Beachcomber Cafe at Crystal Cove.
