If you blink you’ll miss it but that would be your loss. Located in downtown Orange, I bet you would have never guessed The Perfect Circle Cupcakery was a Cupcake Wars contender on the Food Network (and winner) or that they served the most wondrous cupcakes. Well now you know.

Being inside this cupcake shop is a treat. If you were to step inside a Tiffany box, this is what it would look like.  The decor made me feel like Audrey Hepburn and a little guilty about the cupcake I was about to consume. However my taste buds won that war.   Aptly named the Banana Bomb, this cupcake was what won the judges hearts and declared The Perfect Circle Cupcakery a winner in Cupcake Wars. The name and clever presentation was too good to pass up. I simply had to know what the fuss was all about.

The Banana Bomb cupcake is a complex arrangement of flavors. Take your time to savor each one and you’ll appreciate the care and consideration that went into the construction. At first bite your taste buds will savor the luscious cream cheese frosting followed by the delicious moist banana cake and the sweet crunch of the pecans drizzled with maple syrup and oh, what’s this? A slice of banana? It is the perfect breakfast indulgence all in one single bite and before you know it you’ve devoured this $3 masterpiece and it is obvious why this unsuspecting cupcake shop won the fierce battle at Cupcake Wars. My finger licking chops couldn’t wait to get back and my friend Theresa Moretti agreed.

Be forewarned though. If they run out of cupcakes, they will closer earlier than their 7PM time but that isn’t because they’re too cheap to make more cupcakes. It’s because they bake them fresh and once they’re gone, they’re gone.  If you’re craving the perfect cupcake or a great summer indulgence, you’ll surely be in for a treat.
